Hi, I’m Corey.

I believe therapy works best when you don't feel like you have to edit yourself before walking through the door. Whether you're untangling the effects of trauma, navigating questions about identity or relationships, exploring different parts of yourself, or simply feeling stuck in patterns you can't seem to change, my goal is to create a space where your full experience has room to exist.

My approach is collaborative, relational, and grounded in curiosity. We'll spend time understanding how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, and relate to others, but we won't stop at insight alone. Therapy should help you make sense of what's happening and support you in creating meaningful, lasting change in your life.

I'm especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ clients, people in polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous relationships, those exploring sexuality or kink, and individuals healing from relational or complex trauma. I also enjoy working with helping professionals, people who often find themselves caring for everyone else while struggling to make space for themselves.

I know that many of the people I work with have spent years feeling misunderstood or trying to fit into spaces that weren't built with them in mind. My role isn't to tell you who you should be. It's to help you better understand yourself, identify what matters most to you, and build a life and relationships that reflect those values.

Outside the therapy room, I'm drawn to creativity, storytelling, nature, and the communities that form around shared passions. I appreciate the ways people make meaning, whether that's through books, games, art, music, or the relationships they build. Those interests continue to shape the curiosity I bring into my work as a therapist.

I’m an avid anime fan, a D&D nerd, a comic book fan, a softball player, a devoted husband, and a father to three fur babies.

Finding the right therapist is an important decision, and it's okay if you have questions before getting started. If you're wondering whether we'd be a good fit, I'd be happy to connect for a free consultation and help you decide whether working together feels right.

Education & Professional Background

My work as a therapist is grounded in both clinical training and a commitment to ongoing learning. I believe providing high-quality care means continually deepening my knowledge, seeking consultation, and staying engaged with the communities I serve.

Master of Social Work (MSW)

Master of Science in Higher Education

Professional Experience

Before opening Moon Meadow Counseling, I worked in a variety of clinical settings, supporting clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relationship concerns, and life transitions.

I spent two years providing case management at two of Houston's most respected mental health organizations: The Montrose Center and The Menninger Clinic. These experiences gave me the opportunity to support individuals navigating a wide range of mental health concerns while working alongside multidisciplinary treatment teams. At The Montrose Center, I developed a deeper understanding of the unique strengths and challenges within LGBTQ+ communities. At The Menninger Clinic, I gained experience working with individuals facing complex mental health needs and saw firsthand the importance of individualized, compassionate, and evidence-informed care. Together, these experiences continue to shape the thoughtful, collaborative approach I bring to therapy today.

Community Involvement

Being part of the community extends beyond my work as a therapist. I believe that meaningful care is strengthened by genuine connection with the communities I serve.

Outside the therapy office, I'm actively involved in Houston's LGBTQ+ community through recreation, service, and professional leadership. I've participated in local leagues through the Montrose Softball League Association (MSLA), Lone Star Volleyball Association (LSVA), and Pride Sports, experiences that have allowed me to build relationships and stay connected with the diverse people who make up our community. I also remain actively involved with the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, where I connect with fellow professionals and organizations committed to strengthening and supporting Houston's LGBTQ+ community.

These experiences remind me that mental health doesn't exist in isolation. Community, belonging, and meaningful connection are an important part of wellbeing, and they continue to shape the perspective I bring to my work with clients.

Continuing Education

I view professional development as an ongoing responsibility.

In addition to meeting continuing education requirements for licensure, I regularly pursue advanced training to strengthen my work with:

  • LGBTQ+ mental health

  • Polyamory and ethical non-monogamy

  • Kink-affirming care

  • Trauma and complex trauma

  • Relationship counseling

  • Sex therapy

This commitment allows me to bring current research, evidence-based practices, and culturally responsive care into my work with clients.
