FAQs

Finding the right therapist is about more than credentials or specialties. It's about finding someone you feel comfortable talking with and someone whose approach aligns with what you're looking for.
I work best with clients who are interested in understanding themselves more deeply while also creating meaningful change in their lives and relationships. My approach is collaborative, relational, and affirming of the complexity people bring into therapy.
If you're unsure whether we're a good fit, I encourage you to schedule a consultation. It's an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about my approach, and decide whether working together feels right for you.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another.
We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, what's been happening in your life, and any questions you have about the therapy process. You don't need to prepare anything or know exactly where to start. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable while beginning to develop a shared understanding of what you'd like to work toward.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Meeting consistently helps build momentum and provides space to develop new insights and patterns over time.
As therapy progresses, some clients choose to transition to biweekly or less frequent sessions depending on their goals, needs, and progress.
We'll regularly discuss what's working and adjust the frequency together.

There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer.
Some people come to therapy with a specific concern they want to address over a shorter period of time. Others choose longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, strengthen relationships, or continue personal growth.
We'll regularly check in about your goals and make decisions together about the pace and duration of therapy.

Your privacy is an essential part of therapy. There are a small number of legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality, such as situations involving imminent risk of harm, suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or when records are required by law or court order.
We'll review confidentiality and answer any questions you have before beginning therapy.

Feeling nervous is incredibly common.
Beginning therapy often means talking about parts of your life that you may not have shared before. We don't have to rush into difficult topics. Therapy develops over time, and we'll work together to build a foundation of trust, clarity, and collaboration before moving into deeper work.
