Being Known
An Ongoing Men's Therapy Group
Begins January 2027
Connection. Insight. Growth.
Wanting deeper connection doesn't always mean knowing how to create it. You may have meaningful relationships in your life and still feel disconnected, struggle to express what you need, or find yourself pulling away when someone gets too close.
Being Known is an ongoing psychotherapy process group for adult men who want to explore how they relate to others and develop more authentic, meaningful connections.
This isn't about having all the answers. It's about becoming more aware of what happens in your relationships, exploring the patterns that create distance or closeness, and practicing different ways of connecting with others.
Unlike a class or educational workshop, a process group focuses on the experiences members bring into the room each week.
Conversations are guided by what feels most important to the group. Topics may include vulnerability, emotional intimacy, relationships, sexuality, friendship, masculinity, communication, boundaries, trust, desire, loneliness, and the ways we let ourselves be known.
As members share their experiences, offer support, and receive feedback, the group itself becomes part of the therapeutic process. Members have opportunities to practice vulnerability, experience different ways of relating, and discover how they are experienced by others.
A process group is a form of psychotherapy that uses the relationships within the group as part of the therapeutic work. Rather than following a set curriculum, members bring in what's happening in their lives and explore it together.
The group becomes a place to practice the same skills you're working toward outside of it: expressing yourself, listening to others, tolerating vulnerability, setting boundaries, receiving feedback, and repairing moments of disconnection.
What is a process group?
Who is this group for?
Being Known welcomes adult men who want to develop deeper, more authentic relationships with others.
You might be a good fit if you are:
Wanting deeper or more meaningful relationships.
Feeling disconnected despite having people in your life.
Struggling to be vulnerable or express what you need.
Noticing patterns of withdrawing, shutting down, or keeping people at a distance.
Navigating dating, partnership, friendship, or sexual relationships.
Exploring how masculinity and expectations around being a man affect your relationships.
Working on trust, communication, boundaries, or intimacy.
Wanting to better understand your own patterns of relating.
Interested in learning from others while sharing your own experiences.
You don't need to have a specific relationship or sexual problem to benefit from this group. You also don't need a particular diagnosis or trauma history. What matters is a willingness to explore yourself and your relationships with curiosity and honesty.
Men of all sexual orientations, gender histories, and relationship structures are welcome.
What to expect
Being Known is designed to be a thoughtful, collaborative space where members can explore meaningful parts of their lives and relationships.
Members are encouraged to:
Share openly without pressure.
Listen with curiosity and respect.
Notice and explore their own interpersonal patterns.
Offer and receive thoughtful feedback.
Practice vulnerability and direct communication.
Build trust through consistent participation.
The group develops over time as members get to know one another. That ongoing relationship creates opportunities for interpersonal learning and connection that simply aren't possible in individual therapy alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely. Many people are new to group therapy. You won't be expected to share everything immediately, and you can become more comfortable as trust develops. The goal isn't to perform vulnerability. It's to gradually develop your capacity for it.
-
Being Known is a psychotherapy process group, not a peer-led support group or social group.
Members will certainly support one another, but the group is facilitated by a licensed therapist and focuses on helping members understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape how they connect with others.
-
No. Being Known welcomes men who are single, partnered, married, dating, or otherwise navigating relationships. All consensual relationship structures are welcome.
-
That's okay. You don't need to arrive feeling comfortable with vulnerability. In fact, difficulty letting yourself be known may be part of what brings you to the group. We'll work with that process rather than expecting you to overcome it before you arrive.
-
That's okay, too. Process groups aren't structured around preparing a topic each week. Members bring what's happening in their lives, and the group explores what feels meaningful or relevant in the moment.
